Maack Takes Middays @ Mix 99.5/Greensboro
• iHeartMedia AC WMAG (Mix 99.5)/Greensboro has secured the talents of company veteran Heather Maack to take over the midday show. That shift had been performed by the legendary Dayton, OH-based Kim Faris, who recently announced her retirement after a 43-year radio career. In a staff memo, Greensboro SVP of Programming Zac Davis said of Faris, “Kim has done a phenomenal job for us in middays, and she’s played a vital role for us in our resurrection of our Adult Contemporary brand.”
Weighing in on the addition of Maack, who is based at afternoon drive at Hot AC KJMY (My 99.5)/Salt Lake City, Davis said, “She and I worked together in Salt Lake City years ago and I’ve watched her career blossom. When she was 8 years old, Heather would host her own pretend radio show in her living room complete with celebrity interviews (thanks to the acting skills of her best friend), make the commercials, sing the jingles, and it’s all recorded on cassette tapes that will stay hidden forever! Heather started her real radio career in 2000 and has been living her childhood dream ever since.”
