Matty Blake Wakes Up In Providence
• Cumulus AC WWLI (Lite 105)/Providence announces the arrival of Matty Blake as the station’s new morning co-host, plugging in across from 18-year station vet Heather Gersten to create… wait for it… Heather & Matty, weekday mornings from 6-10am.
Blake, a resident of Barrington, RI, most recently co-hosted the Matty & Nick afternoon show on the late, great WAAF/Boston. He also worked at former Entercom Rhythmic AC WQSX (Star 93.7)/Boston in 2000.
Blake is also a successful host, actor, writer, adventurer and investigator who has done work for Golf Channel, NBC Sports, VH1, G4 and Comedy Central, and has guest-starred on TV shows like 30 Rock, Boardwalk Empire and Orange Is The New Black, and appeared in the films Rough Night, Hits, and the Academy Award-winning Mystic River. He’s currently the host of The Curse of Oak Island: Drilling Down and Beyond Oak Islandon The History Channel.
Gersten commented, “I first met Matty 20 years ago at a radio station in Boston and we have wanted to partner on a show ever since, so this is a dream come true.” Blake noted, My mission now is simple: To join forces with my friend Heather and spread joy wherever we can.” The Lite FM morning co-pilot seat has been empty since Stephen Donovan left in July.
