Mix Morning Moves In Nashville
• Midwest Communications’ AC WJXA (Mix 92.9)/Nashville announced two major additions to its morning show — one, a new arrival; the other, a current staffer — Sean Cash and Joe Britton have signed on to the wake-up crew, joining current co-host Ricki Smith as the new morning trio.
Cash (left) arrives in Nashville from Augusta, GA, where he most recently did mornings at Beasley Country WKXC (Kicks 99), landing the gig after a three-month search to replace outgoing morning co-host Brandon O’Brien, who is stepping away from morning radio to focus on his own local business. OM/Brand Manager Barb Bridges said, “We are thrilled to add these two incredible talents to our morning show line up! Sean was just a natural fit for the team. Once we heard his demo, we were hooked.”
The process of securing Britton’s services proved to be a tad easier — he’s been in the building since 2018. Bridges added, “‘Promo Joe’ has proven to be force in the Nashville market as our Marketing & Promotions Director, so moving him over was also an easy decision. We’re excited to add these two dynamic individuals to our morning mix!” Bridges says while Britton (left, with Rickie Smith) joins the Mix morning show he will continue to serve as the cluster’s Marketing & Promotions Director until his replacement is named.
Prior to his Augusta stint, Cash previously did middays at Curtis Media Country WQDR/Raleigh, afternoons on Townsquare Top 40 WJIM (97-5 NOW FM)/Lansing, MI and weekends on WYCD and WOMC/Detroit. Cash commented, “I’m so grateful and excited for the opportunity to do morning radio in an amazing city like Nashville! Big thanks to the Midwest team for believing in live and local talent. My family and I are so ready to call Music City home!”
