Nick & Kristen Take Mornings At Portland’s Wolf
• Shortly before the holiday break we reported that married morning duo Nick Steele and Kristen Flowers had resigned from mornings on Bonneville AC KOIT/San Francisco after a three-year run “for a new opportunity out of state.” Today it was revealed that state is Oregon, as Entercom just introduced Nick and Kristen as the new morning show on Country KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf)/Portland, beginning Wednesday, January 22.
“Nick and Kristen’s accessible sound, positivity and family-friendly approach will resonate not only with new country fans but the entire Portland community,” said Kim Martinez, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Portland. “Their show will bring the trials of a married couple to life in funny, creative and interactive ways. Their unique take on the topic of the day, deep relationships within the local community and accessible personalities make them the perfect choice to wake up with on the Wolf.”
Nick & Kristen joined KOIT in January 2017, transitioning from morning on Entravision Country KNTY (101.9 The Wolf)/Sacramento. The couple met ten years ago at CBS Radio Las Vegas where Kristen was an anchor for News-Talk KXNT-AM and Nick was on-air at Top 40 KLUC. They formally debuted as a morning team in 2012 at Midwest Communications’ Top 40 WMGI/Terre Haute, IN.
In a joint statement, Nick and Kristen said, “We are so thrilled to work alongside Kim Martinez and [OM/PD] Scott Roddy. Both are dynamic and inspiring leaders in our industry who elevate their staff and their stations. We’re equally as excited to share our lives and bring the best new country to Portland.”
