Now Entering Cat Country: Kira Smethers
• Kira Smethers is the newly named morning co-host on Cumulus Country WCTO (Cat Country 96)/Allentown, PA (and simulcast on 107.1 WWYY/Stroudsburg, PA). She starts Feb. 15 and will plug in across from station vet Sam Malone, weekdays from 5-10am ET.
Smethers arrives in Pennsylvania’s scenic Lehigh Valley from Las Vegas, where she most recently worked for Lotus Broadcasting. Before that she was a street teamer and part-time personality at Audacy Las Vegas.
“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kira to the CAT Country Morning Show,” said Elizabeth Pembleton, VP/Market Manager, Cumulus Lehigh Valley-Poconos. “Her passion, drive and understanding of audience engagement, and of social and audio evolution, captured my attention immediately. She’s incredibly talented and is an exceptional complement to Sam Malone and the entire CAT Country team.”
Jerry Padden, longtime OM of Cumulus Allentown and PD of Cat Country 96, commented, “I’m pleased to welcome Kira to the family. I can’t wait for her to get out and start making new friends. Together with Sam, the Lehigh Valley will love starting their day with them, on-air and online.” Smethers said, “I’m so excited to become part of the CAT Country team! I can’t wait to embrace the Allentown/Bethlehem community and take on a new town one pink drink at a time!”
Smethers succeeds Hannah Byrom, who moved to Nashville last fall to pursue new career opportunities.
