Pros In Motion — But Not Quite Yet
• Woodward Community Media is excited to announce that longtime Green Bay-Appleton-Oshkosh morning radio vets Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano will join Otis Day in mornings on Top 40 WKSZ (95.9 Kiss FM).
Day (right, with Schurk and Vitrano), who previously spent 25 years across the street on Midwest Communications’ rival WIXX, debuted as the new Kiss FM morning host on Dec. 18. You may recall that Schurk and Vitrano co-hosted the WIXX morning show for many years with market legend Jim Murphy, who retired in late November after 32 years. Shortly thereafter, Schurk and Vitrano announced their departure “to explore new opportunities.” Ahem…
“Otis, Katie, and Nick are exactly who Northeast Wisconsin wants to start their day with,” said Joe Marroe, Brand Manager of Kiss FM. “Their connection to this community is unmatched and their long-standing friendship will bring amazing chemistry to our broadcast and digital channels.”
Day remarked, “Since I started at Kiss FM the overwhelming request from the community has been to bring my friends Katie and Nick back to the radio. I am incredibly excited that Woodward trusted me to jump at this opportunity, and I’m equally excited that Katie and Nick still had their headphones available.”
GM Kelly Radandt noted, “The new Kiss Morning Show is a new start in this New Year. Employee-owned Woodward is about connecting our local communities and together. Otis, Katie & Nick will help us do that!”
• Now, this gets interesting — Katie and Nick both have non-compete clauses and will not be allowed on the air at Kiss FM until A) this situation is resolved, or B) the non-compete expires. You are invited to watch this space.
