RAMP Leap Of The Week™
• Major congratulations are in order for Karina Farias, who is bracing to make the whiplash-inducing leap upward from Bryan-College Station, TX (Market #186) to San Francisco (Market #4), as she has been named Music Director for Bonneville International AC 96.5 KOIT/San Francisco and Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 KFOX)/San Francisco-San Jose, starting July 5. Farias will also do on-air shifts on both stations.
Ms. Farias arrives from Bryan Broadcasting in College Station, TX, where she is currently APD/MD and afternoon personality on Country KVMK (Maverick 100.9) and APD/MD on Classic Country Willy 97.7 (KNDE-HD2). She’s also a major market veteran, thanks to her part-time gig on Entercom Country KILT (100.3 The Bull)/Houston.
In making the announcement, KOIT & KUFX PD Brian Figula said, “Karina’s passion for the radio industry and well-versed programming knowledge makes her the ideal fit for this position.” When asked about her new opportunity, Ms. Farias replied, “I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime!
