Volkman Back On Chicagoland Radio
On Monday, Volkman appeared on Pat Capone‘s afternoon show to re-introduce himself to The Fox audience. Volkman said, “It’s great to be here. I’m excited! It’s not the confines of corporate radio and it’s like family and people seem to like each other… the music selection here is so much broader and unafraid compared to what the corporate people have done to radio. You can listen for three hours and really enjoy it.”
WFXF PD Alex Quigley remarked, “We’re proud and lucky to have Eddie Volkman take over our morning airwaves. He’s a major-market talent and genuinely good guy who knows how to build an audience and get attention in Chicagoland. The Fox still believes in old-school rock radio, with a deeper library and more freedom for talented personalities like Eddie and Pat Capone to work their magic. Our GM Kathleen Cahill laid this foundation, and we’re blessed to have this platform in our hometown to do what we love the way that we want it. We’ve got a couple more surprises on the way in 2017, and I can’t wait for the calendar to flip.” Volkman succeeds Brian Sherman, who was recently hired to co-host mornings on Hubbard Classic Hits WDRV (97.1 The Drive)/Chicago.
