Wier Waking Up Early In Boston
• After a lengthy interplanetary search, Beasley Country WKLB (Country 102.5)/Boston has found its new morning co-host — Jonathan Wier will team up with current co-host Ayla Brown to host the cleverly named Jonathan Wier & Ayla Brown Show, which will roll weekdays from 5:30-9am ET, starting Wednesday, Sept. 4. As we previously reported, current morning co-host Jackson Blue is moving to afternoon drive.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Jonathan to WKLB,” said David Corey, PD of WKLB and Beasley National Country Brand Manager. “The Jonathan Wier & Ayla Brown Show is going to be a powerhouse!”
Wier (left) is a St. Louis native who took a unique path into radio after his wife entered him into a radio talk show host search back in 2004. He spent the past four years serving as the nighttime personality at Entercom News-Talk KMBZ/Kansas City.
“Jonathan is the perfect addition to our team of world class talent,” said Cadillac Jack, VP of Programming for Beasley Media Group Boston. “We’re excited to welcome him to Beasley Boston and look forward to many successful years together!” Wier commented, “I’m extremely excited to be joining one of the top Country stations in the nation and working for the best and most respected company in the business, Beasley Media Group. The fact that this is also happening in Boston, a city that I’ve always dreamed of living in, is just the icing on the cake!”
