WTIC Revamps Lineup, Adds Shattuck
• Audacy announced a newly revamped weekday lineup for News-Talk WTIC-AM 1080/Hartford, now featuring all-local programming from 5am-6pm ET, effective June 21. As part of these changes, morning co-host Brian Shactman will now hang around for an extra hour to host the aptly named Extra Time with Brian, weekdays from 9-10am ET. WTIC welcomes New England media veteran Tom Shattuck as its new midday host, weekdays from 10am-2pm, followed by The Todd Feinburg Show from 2-6pm.
Shattuck (pictured) was most recently Sr. Editor of The Lowell Sun in Lowell, MA. Before that, he was the editorial page editor of The Boston Herald and Executive Producer of the paper’s digital radio station, Boston Herald Radio. The move to Audacy marks a return to radio for Shattuck, who started his career at WRKO/Boston as a web designer and content manager before moving into on-air programming and later spent four years as Executive Producer of the afternoon show on WTKK/Boston.
“WTIC has been serving the people of Connecticut for almost 100 years and I’m truly honored to be given the opportunity to contribute to the legacy of this great station,” said Shattuck. “These are extraordinary times and I look forward to talking about our politics and culture with the thoughtful, astute WTIC audience.”
Stephanie Perl, SVP/Market Manager, Audacy Hartford, commented, “Radio is best when it’s local, when we can discuss and look at the local issues affecting our listeners. Being able to expand our local weekday programming further separates WTIC from other radio stations in the state and we look forward to unveiling this new slate of content to our audience.”
