You CAN Go Home Again
• Case-in-point: Chris Kelly, whose has returned (in the form of his disembodied voice) to the station where he got his radio start in the late ’90s — Foster Communications’ Top 40 KIXY/San Angelo, TX — this time, as the station’s imaging voice as part of KIXY’s 2018 relaunch. The move also marks a virtual radio reunion for the Florida-based Kelly, who is currently Director of Programming for ReelWorld, and KIXY PD/morning guy David Carr — they both worked together at KIXY and at KSME/Ft Collins, CO back in the day.
“It’s a full-circle career moment,” said Kelly (pictured here with his fiancée, ReelWorld European Production Manager Laura Mather). He added, “It’s funny that no matter how many stations you work for, no matter where you are, your first one is always special!”
To celebrate KIXY’s 2018 relaunch and honor the station that gave him his career start, Kelly recorded a heartfelt tribute. Check that out and other audio delights at ChrisKellyVO.com.
