Cumulus & Bonneville SF To Be Roommates

• Cumulus has confirmed that it will be relocating its San Francisco radio group from 750 Battery Street into Bonneville’s suburban Daly City facility, the current home base of AC KOIT, Top 40 KMVQ (99.7 NOW), Urban AC 102.9 KBLX and South Bay Classic Rock 98.5 KFOX/San Jose.

The seeds for such a move were originally planted last November, when Cumulus announced that its Sports-Talk trio 104.5 KNBR-FM, KNBR-AM 680 and KTCT-AM (KNBR 1050) would relocate over to Levi’s Stadium, home of the 49ers, in Santa Clara. According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Cumulus originally moved into the former Clear Channel facility on Battery Street in 2015, but as its programming consolidated and local shows were cut, the need for a larger facility diminished. In addition to KNBR and Classic Rock KSAN (107.7 The Bone), Cumulus operates Conservative Talk duo 810 KSFO and 560 KZAC.

This forthcoming move is already being heartily embraced by the Cumulus crew, as evidenced by this Friday Facebook post by Chasta Freeman Michaelis, PD of 107.7 The Bone, who exclaimed, “It’s true!! We’re moving in and my heart is so excited. There are a lot of humans I already dearly love and respect at Bonneville. And many more I’m fans of and can’t wait to get to know better. A bunch of OG radio freaks in the same building… now this is gonna be FUN!”

No less excited about this situation is longtime Bay Area personality Sue Hall of KOIT, who posted this photo to Instagram, bearing this caption: “We’re all moving in together! Bonneville SF + Cumulus SF. Some great people in this pic!” Left to right: Freska Griarte (mornings, KBLX/middays, KOIT), Baby Huey (KSAN), Sue Hall, Nikki Blakk (afternoons, KSAN), Chasta Freeman Michaelis, Morris Knight (afternoons, KOIT), and Bonneville’s Hope Bidegainberry.
