Byerly Earns Neuhoff GM Stripes
• Kathy Byerly has been promoted to VP/GM of Neuhoff Media’s Decatur, IL group. Byerly had been serving as Associate GM and Director of Sales of the five station cluster — WSOY-FM, WSOY-AM, WDZ-AM, WCZQ-FM and WDZQ-FM and digital group (including NowDecatur.com), which has earned multiple awards, including its third NAB Crystal in the past year.
Byerly continues on an upward career trajectory that began with a temporary front desk position at Neuhoff’s Springfield, IL stations, followed by a rise to local seller, Local Sales Manager, then a jump to Decatur as AGM/DOS — and now GM. “Kathy’s promotion to GM is well deserved, and a true example of ‘rising through the ranks,'” says Beth Neuhoff, President/CEO of Neuhoff Communications. “Kathy has availed herself of every opportunity to improve her skills. She is a compassionate and motivating leader. [COO] Mike Hulvey and I could not be prouder to see Kathy lead this team to new heights.”
This marks the third time that a Neuhoff sales leader has taken a key market leadership role for Neuhoff — Byerly joins Danielle Outlaw, GM of Neuhoff Bloomington and Michelle Campbell, GM of Neuhoff Danville, in following the path to market General Manager. “I’m thrilled to be leading a team that has proven time and again the core values of our company — Grit, Community, Innovation and Excellence,” said Byerly. “Every day we are winning for our listeners, clients, community and resetting the bar for what a local media company looks like in our local market.”
