Galvin Succeeds Weiss At Urban One Raleigh

• Urban One, Inc.’s Audio Division announced that Gary Weiss, longtime General Manager of the company’s Raleigh group — Hip-Hop WQOK (K97.5), Urban AC simulcast WFXC/WFXK (Foxy 107.1/104.3), and Urban Gospel WNNL (103.9 The Light) — will retire after a quarter-century of service to the company. Weiss (left) has led the Raleigh team since August 2000, guiding the cluster through significant growth, community partnerships, and audience engagement.

“We are grateful for Gary’s leadership and dedication over the past 20 years,” said Eddie Harrell Jr., Co-President of Urban One’s Audio Division. “His commitment to our audiences, advertisers, and communities has left a lasting impact.”

Concurrent with the announcement of Weiss’ retirement, Urban One has appointed Mitch Galvin as the new GM of Raleigh, effective Nov. 1. Galvin (right) has been with the company since 2010, first as the General Manager of its Cincinnati markets and most recently as Vice President of National Sales. Harrell added, “We are confident that Mitch will carry forward our strong foundation in the Raleigh market and build on the current momentum.”

Weiss will continue to support the transition through the end of December, ensuring seamless continuity.
