Long Resigns As VP/Market Mgr., CMG Atlanta
• In a surprise move, Jaleigh Long, VP/Market Manager for Cox Media Group Atlanta-Athens, GA recently resigned her position. According to Georgia Wavelengths, published by Friends Of Georgia Radio, Long called an unscheduled all-hands meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, to announce that she was resigning, effective Nov. 8.
Long started her broadcast career in Indianapolis as an AE for Susquehanna Radio. After a seven-year stint as General Sales Manager with South Central Media in Evansville, IN, Long joined CMG Atlanta in 2014 as General Sales Manager, working her way up to Director of Sales in early 2017. She was formally elevated to VP/Market Manager in April 2021, after serving in an interim capacity for several months.
In a statement to Georgia Wavelengths, Long said, “I’m so grateful for the amazing 20+ years in this industry and spending the last 11 with the talented team at CMG, and I’m especially thankful to [EVP/Radio] Rob [Babin] and to CMG.” She also praised her “incredible’ team in both markets. Long said she will be spending time with her husband and two “tween-age” kids and plans to remain in Atlanta.
