Mid-West Family Executive Suite Makeover

Mid-West Family, with a broadcasting legacy dating back to the 1950s, is aligning its leadership structure to better reflect the industry opportunities and the markets the company serves:

Tom Walker, the third-generation family member to lead the employee-owned company, is elevated to Chairman of the Board of the group of companies. Walker continues to be involved in the governance, guidance, and direction of the companies while turning over the day-to-day aspects of his roles to individuals throughout the group.

Dave Doetsch, a nearly 30-year Mid-West Family veteran, and current GM of the South Bend and Southwest Michigan operations, will step into the Chief Operating & Revenue Officer role across all markets. Concurrent with this move, Doetsch is recruiting for the next Market Manager to cover his previous role in Michigan and Indiana.

Mike Paterson, who joined Mid-West Family with the acquisition of Rockford, IL in 2013, moves into the CFO role for the group and will oversee all the financial, accounting, and growth activities for the group.

Kim DiGiovanni, previously the VP/Director of Sales in Rockford, moved into the Market Manager role for Rockford, IL prior to the end of 2024.

Mid-West Family has also aligned its Board of Directors with Randy Hawke, Brian Jackson, and Jen O’Brien joining Doetsch and Paterson as the current directors for Mid-West Family’s group of companies. Hawke succeeded Walker as Madison Market Manager at the end of 2024, with Jackson and O’Brien serving in Mid-West’s La Crosse market.

Following the pending sale of the Springfield, IL market to Woodward Communications, Inc., Mid-West Family will own and operate 41 radio stations in seven markets in five states across the Midwest: Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Madison, WI; Rockford, IL; Springfield, MO; St. Joseph-Benton Harbor, MI; and South Bend, IN.
