NRG Spins Off Six In Nebraska

• We are told that all of the proper paperwork has been signed and an application filed with the FCC as NRG Media prepares to transfer ownership of KGFW-AM, KQKY-FM, KRNY-FM & K241CN-FX/Kearney, NE; KROR-FM/Hastings, NE; and KSYZ-FM/Grand Island, NE to Usher Media, LLC.

NRG Media, LLC, is an Iowa-based company headed by CEO Mary Quass. NRG owns more than 30 other radio stations across Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Quass remarked, “We’re pleased to announce the sale of our six radio stations in Central Nebraska to Usher Media LLC, a respected local broadcaster. The buyer, Usher Media, LLC, is a Nebraska-based company headed by Alan Usher, who commented, “We are excited to announce the acquisition of six radio stations in Central Nebraska.
