• iHeartMedia Tampa has named Pete Norden as Area Senior Vice President of Sales. Norden has been with iHeartMedia for more than 19 years, and spent the past nine years as Market President for the company’s neighboring Sarasota group.
“We are very excited about adding Pete to our team,” said Sam Nein, Area President for iHeartMedia Tampa Bay. “Pete has an established track record of performance success, is a great leader and will be a very strong addition to our team!”
• We are very happy for our pal Paul Williams, who has joined Country Aircheck as Radio Editor. The move links Williams with another longtime friend (and former R&R colleague), the award-winning Lon Helton. Williams commented, “Bringing my radio and record experience to Nashville’s most respected industry news source is the perfect way to start CRS week. The opportunity to work with Lon Helton, Chuck Aly and the rest of the Country Aircheck team is something I’ve wanted to do for quite some time.”
Williams began his radio career while still in high school and he worked at such illustrious stations as KDWB/Minneapolis, the late WEGX (Eagle 106)/Philadelphia and the former WAPW (Power 99)/Atlanta on his way to the PD post at Susquehanna’s KPLX/Dallas. He transitioned to the label side in 2004, moving to Nashville as Sr. Director of Strategic Marketing for the RCA Label Group. He later served held regional promotion posts with Sony Music Nashville, Southern Ground and Reviver/1608. Williams is now in place and can be congratulated at paul@countryaircheck.com.
