Radio Talent Institute Rolling In Knoxville
The inaugural Tennessee Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Radio Talent Institute is now underway at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Over the next ten days, sessions will be taught by 40 broadcast professionals representing Midwest Communications, Scripps Radio Group, 5 Star Radio, Cumulus, Thunderbolt Broadcasting, Saga, iHeartMedia, Cromwell, Entercom, and others. There are no breakout sessions — all students attend every session, including on-air music radio, news and sports, as well as digital/social media, production, promotion, sales, engineering, programming, management and all things radio including being certified as Radio Marketing Professionals by RAB. Larry Stone, President of Stonecom Radio in Cookeville, TN was the opening speaker yesterday and Larry Patrick will close the Institute ten days from now with his session, “Now Is The Time To Start Thinking Like a Pro.”
Dan Vallie, Founder and President of the National Radio Talent System, commented, “We are very excited to be partnering with the University of Tennessee and working with Sam Swan and the College of Communication and Information, and with Benny Smith, at their award-winning college radio station, WUTK. And we couldn’t be happier to partner with Whit Adamson, President and the TAB, who have been supportive of the National Radio Talent System almost from the very beginning.” Individual broadcasters, groups or organizations who would like to join the National Radio Talent System™ in establishing and sponsoring a Radio Talent Institute™ on a campus in their state and region should contact DanVallie@NationalRadioTalentSystem.com or call 828-262-1502.
