Winter Is Coming… To Burbank

• Veteran media executive Winter Horton has joined Meruelo Media as Chief Operating Officer, effective Sept. 3. Meruelo Media manages multiple broadcast stations, production studios and digital properties in Southern California with plans for expansion.

Horton will be based out of the Meruelo Media Burbank studios and report directly to Meruelo Media President & CEO Otto Padron, who remarked, “Meruelo Media has enjoyed extraordinary growth in the past few months. The task to solidify our LA Super-cluster position and continue our expansion is my highest priority. To achieve this, I’m proud to announce the addition of Winter Horton as our Chief Operating Officer. Winter brings a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to help us create even greater value as we optimize our strategy of growth.”

Horton joins Meruelo Media after serving more than 20 distinguished years in the same role at LBI Media, Inc. While at LBI, Horton provided the leadership and organizational framework that grew LBI from a local media company to the nationally recognized Estrella Television Network and Radio Group. Prior to his time at LBI, Horton was an award-winning commercial producer and director.
