Zachary Named VP/MM For Portland Radio Group
• RAMP has confirmed that veteran radio executive Phil Zachary is returning to New England, hired by Saga as the new VP/Market Manager of the company’s Portland Radio Group in Portland, ME. He succeeds Bob Adams, who exited on Monday.
As we recently reported, Zachary left Entercom on May 30 after a seven-year run, most recently in a corporate role working on special projects. A staff memo from Saga Pres./CEO Ed Christian and SVP of Operations Chris Forgy formally introduced Zachary to the Portland family: “1) Strive to be just a little bit better every day; 2) Never be out worked by your competition; 3) Once you build organizational trust almost anything is possible. These are the three primary leadership principles your new Vice President and Market Manager, Phil Zachary lives by. Phil is a world class broadcaster who has enjoyed an accomplished career spanning four decades.
Most recently, Phil lead the Washington, DC cluster for Entercom Communications. Prior to that he was the VP & Regional Manager of New England Region for Entercom and had oversight of Boston, Providence, Hartford, Springfield and Worcester, MA. including The WEEI Sports Radio and Boston Red Sox Radio Networks. Phil also served 11 years as President/COO of Curtis Media Group in Raleigh, NC.” In closing, the memo read, “You will see for yourself that Phil Zachary is a community-minded leader who is committed to the personal and professional growth of the team he serves.”
