Andrew Kalb Exits ABC News
• After more than two decades with ABC News, rising to his most recent position as Executive Director, Programming and News Coverage, Andrew Kalb has left the company, the result of corporate restructuring.
Kalb broke the news of his unscheduled departure in a Tuesday morning email that read, “After 22 years, yesterday was my last day at ABC News as part of a restructuring led by new management. It has been an honor to lead a talented team of broadcast and digital journalists and storytellers, and to successfully re-launch the ABC News Radio business, which now serves over 1650 radio stations.
Most recently, I also was Executive Producer and helped launch the ABC News daily audio podcast, Start Here, which was recognized with a Murrow award last week for ‘innovation in journalism.’ Along the way, I have served our affiliates in partnership and with pride, understanding that all success is the result of teamwork and collaboration.”
In closing, Kalb said, “To my many friends in radio, both at ABC and across the industry, thank you for the opportunity to work with you. I am looking forward to my next exciting chapter and can be reached at andrewkalb@gmail.com.”
