BOB & TOM Staffer Narrowly Escapes Death
• Comedian Ron Sexton, who is the character voice of “Donnie Baker,” “Ken Tarmac” and many other characters on the syndicated BOB & TOM Show narrowly avoided being killed or seriously injured this weekend when he was targeted by a gunman who pumped at least nine bullets into his rental car in the early hours of Sunday morning in northeast Indianapolis. Miraculously, Sexton was not injured, and the assailant – who Sexton believes he knows — remains at large.
According to Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR 13, the Florida-based Sexton was in Indianapolis when he was attacked around 2am on Sunday morning, Dec. 11 in Castleton, IN near the Drury Inn at 82nd St. & Shadeland Ave.
Sexton told WTHR he believes he knows who the shooter is and that he was targeted, adding that he’s worried for his life and for his parents’ lives. “Last night, it came to a head with me all of a sudden pulling up to a red light and seeing him in my blind spot on my driver’s side, and he pulled a weapon,” Sexton said. “In The Sopranos, they say you don’t hear it, you’re right, you don’t hear it. I didn’t hear anything. I felt glass. I felt glass on my face, on my ears, everything.” Sexton immediately sped away, running through several red lights. He told 13News that’s when IMPD arrived. Sexton shared this photo of bullet holes in the windshield of his rental car. He said he counted nine holes in total.
As of Monday, no arrest had been made, and we are told that there has been increased police presence at the show’s Indianapolis studio. [Photo by Ron Sexton]
