Can You Produce ‘The Ty Bentli Show?’
• Cumulus Media’s The Ty Bentli Show is now actively looking for a new Executive Producer, as Glenn Johnson announced he’s leaving within the next month and returning to Mobile, AL — his wife Cherish recently resigned from her anchor position at Nashville ABC affiliate WKRN-TV to accept a similar job with WKRG-TV/Mobile, a move that puts them closer to family.
Johnson was named Exec. Producer of what was then America’s Morning Show with Blair Garner in June 2015, coming off of a brief stint in mornings on WCYQ/Knoxville. Johnson, the artist formerly known as “QTip,” previously spent a decade in Mobile, AL, co-hosting mornings on Cumulus Top 40 WABD, and before that, the late, legendary WABB. He also worked at WYOK/Mobile from 2004-2006.
With the clock now ticking down to Johnson’s departure, NASH Director of Programming John Shomby is searching for a successor to work closely with host Ty Bentli (left) and co-hosts Tricia “TJ” Jenkins (center) and Chuck Wicks (right). This Nashville-based person will oversee the show’s team of producers in-house, as well as help coordinate with our team overseas (as we recently reported, The Ty Bentli Show has expanded its footprint overseas to 20+ cities across the UK).
Duties include creative content planning, daily prep (compiling and discerning what holds relevance to our audience). You will help in coordinating artist visits, show schedules, and booking. You will be the lynchpin between programming teams in our affiliate markets and the morning show — including organization of affiliate liners, client endorsements and travel details. Qualified candidates are invited to study up on all of the position’s many moving parts, and if you feel you meet the challenge, apply online today via the Cumulus Careers Department. Cumulus Media is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
