Charity Is A Laughing Matter
• Intern John, co-host of iHeartMedia’s syndicated The Kane Show, wrapped up his Look What You’ve Done Tour last Saturday, August 11 at Washington DC’s historic Warner Theatre. John’s comedy tour kicked off June 1 at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, followed by two sold-out shows at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville and The Palladium in St. Petersburg on July 27 before ending in DC, home of the Kane Show‘s flagship, iHeartMedia Top 40 WIHT (Hot 99.5).
John originally conceived of this tour as a way to combine his passion for comedy and a way to help out Mimi — a close friend of The Kane Show who was diagnosed with cancer in 2016. As a way to help Mimi, Intern John teamed up with the Fisher House Foundation to not raise money for her but also for other military personnel and their families.
Gillian Gonzales, Director of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising at the Fisher House Foundation was at the Warner Theatre finale to accept a check for $23,000 generated by John’s efforts. “This whole tour was supposed to be just one show, two years ago,” John said. “But because of our listeners, we’ve done 17 shows and raised $23,000… it’s been amazing.”
