Clark Howard Ending Syndicated Show

• Atlanta-based consumer advocate and talk host Clark Howard announced he’s ending his nationally syndicated radio show at the end of this year. That’s the word from longtime ATL media journalist Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Clark Howard Show is syndicated by Westwood One on nearly 250 stations nationwide and airs weeknights from 10pm-midnight on flagship WSB/Atlanta.

“Not being under the gun every week with how much content I have to generate for radio is something I’m so relieved not to do anymore,” the famously frugal Howard told the AJC. “I’m at a point in my life I don’t need the money.” Howard said his websites, Clark.com and ClarkDeals.com, now generate far more revenue than his radio show does. He has 18 full-time employees in Atlanta and many others who work remotely nationwide. “It feels cool to walk away from the show on my own,” said Howard, who has been doing a radio show for 33 years.

Although he’s ending his daily show, Howard will continue to do daily morning and afternoon commentaries on WSB Radio, along with his charity work like his annual Clark’s Kids toy drive. WSB PD Drew Andersson told the AJC he doesn’t yet know what will replace Howard in the 10pm slot but he’s thrilled to still have him contribute daily. “Clark is a great partner to WSB Radio and TV and will remain a crucial part of our news and community service,” Andersson said.
