Gooood Moooorning, Albertaaaa!!
• Montreal-based media company Stingray took the unique step today of launching the syndication of one of its successful local morning shows, The Real Wake Up with Vinnie & Randi, based at CKGY (Real Country 95.5)/Red Deer, Alberta (Pop. 100,000) located about halfway between Calgary and Edmonton, into 15 additional smaller markets across rural Alberta. According to the press release, The Real Wake Up with Vinnie & Randi will serve as “a provincial morning show on 15 stations in communities from High Prairie to Blairmore on Stingray’s Classic Hits ‘boom’ and ‘Real Country’ brands.”
All affiliates carrying The Real Wake Up with Vinnie and Randi will continue to maintain local hosts to provide local news, weather, sports, and other community information. Randi commented, “I’m excited to be a part of this provincial show! When I was younger I always loved volunteering with seniors, and now I get paid to do it every morning.” Vinnie retorted, “I’m not that old! I’ve never had a daughter before, but if I did I pray she’s nothing like Randi.” And there you have it…
