• Westwood One Spot Sales, the national spot platform for Cumulus Media announced its participation in Expressway from Katz — a programmatic ad buying exchange for broadcast radio. Cumulus stations are offering full inventory access through Katz’s cutting-edge programmatic exchange, powered by Jelli. As we speak, 11 Cumulus markets are already live — New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, St. Louis, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Detroit and DC. All Cumulus markets are expected to be online by July.

• Hip Hop legends Ed Lover and Monie Love are hosting The Weekend Blast, a two-hour weekend radio show that launches the weekend of Saturday, May 20 and has already been added in over 15 markets, including Philadelphia, Atlanta and Dallas with more to come. In addition to Classic Hip Hop music and exclusive interviews, The Weekend Blast will also feature a “Top Five Classic Countdown” — No. 1 hits from a particular month and year in classic Hip Hop history; “Ed’s Word of the Week,” “Put ‘Em On Blast,” and the “Blast Off Mix.” Lover remarked, “I’m excited to bring a part of what we do every weekday to listeners on the weekends. Our show is the source for everything classic hip hop, R&B and pop culture; we want to educate the masses about GREAT music… and have fun at the same damn time!”
