Great Moments In Syndication
• Emmy Award-winning comic, writer, author and talk radio host Dennis Miller is rejoining Westwood One to host a new weekday feature that launches January 22. Miller will share his idiosyncratic take on topical issues, the culture, and what Americans are talking about in two distinct 60-second features, Monday through Friday.
This venture marks Miller’s return to radio — he previously hosted a successful weekday Westwood One talk show for eight years. For more info about this new Dennis Miller feature, contact Stuart Greenblatt at 212-419-2946 or sgreenblatt@westwoodone.com.
• Another day, another Woody sighting, this time in Raleigh, as iHeartMedia launched Premiere-syndicated The Woody Show on 95X (WDCG HD2), weekdays from 6-10am ET.
“As the 95X brand in Raleigh continues to evolve, we think The Woody Show‘s authentic brand of entertainment is a perfect fit!” said Chris Edge, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Raleigh-Greensboro. Woody commented, “The good news is that we get to join Chris Edge and the team at 95X… the bad news is that since I have family in Raleigh, I’ll have to change the names of the people in some of my personal stories to protect the innocent.”
• 2 Guys Named Chris made landfall this week on Alpha Media Active Rock WFXH (Rock 106.1)/Savannah-Hilton Head. This addition brings the total number of affiliates to an even half-dozen for the show, hosted by Chris Kelly and Chris Demm and based at WKRR (Rock 92)/Greensboro.
Gabe Reynolds, Operations Manager for WFXH commented, “We are excited to add 2 Guys to the lineup at Rock 106.1. There are many shows out there, but we felt this show fit our format and our market perfectly.” Gigi South, VP/GM of WFXH added, “The ability to drive sales is one of the things we find extremely appealing about the show. The team works well with advertisers at home and in affiliate markets and we look forward to giving local clients the opportunity to work with the show.”
Global Media Services is the exclusive syndication representative for the show. Interested stations can contact Tony Garcia at 303-557-1961 or tony@globalmediaservices.co.
