Sullivan Unplugging From KFBK
• Tom Sullivan announced he will be stepping down from his daily noon-3pm radio show on iHeartMedia’s NewsRadio KFBK/Sacramento, effective Friday, May 30, explaining he will be launching a podcast.
“I am going to hang up the microphone… not completely,” Sullivan said. “This show will come to a screeching halt on May 30th. After that going to dabble in world of podcasting… I feel fine, feel healthy, and want to go out on top. I’ve been doing radio for 45 years… how grateful I am for each and every one of you. It’s time to move down the road and take the microphone from radio to podcast.”
Sullivan’s radio career began in Sacramento in 1980, when he parlayed his successful career in financial services to include daily business news reports on KFBK. He later expanded into a general topic talk show at the urging of his colleague and friend Rush Limbaugh, who at the time was a local talk host at KFBK.
Sullivan began serving as a fill-in talk show host, first on KFBK, and later on Limbaugh’s nationally syndicated show. His success lead to New York in 2007 and Fox Business Network Channel. While there, Sullivan expanded his daily radio show nationwide on Fox Talk Radio, and most recently on Talk Media Network with KFBK as his flagship.
In the next few weeks, KFBK NewsRadio will announcing plans to fill the time slot currently occupied by The Tom Sullivan Show.
