Taste Of Country Nights Inks Evan Paul
• Townsquare Media announced that Evan Paul will take over as host of Taste of Country Nights, its weeknight national Country show airing live from Nashville on over 100 stations nationwide, starting Monday, May 13.
In case that name isn’t familiar — yet — Paul (left) is actually Evan Rose, the artist formerly known as “BiGG” and/or “Chunky” in his previous morning stops at Beasley’s WMGC (105.1 The Bounce)/Detroit, Alpha Media Country KUPL (98.7 The Bull)/Portland, OR and the former WDRW (Wired 96.5)/Philadelphia. His major market resume also includes nights at the former WNOW (92.3 Now)/New York, mornings at XHTZ (Z90)/San Diego and an earlier Detroit stint at WKQI (Channel 95.5). Rose started his career doing nights at WNKS (Kiss 95.1)/Charlotte.
“Evan is a truly great talent, a host who will bring his style of fun and passion for Country artists to an already successful night show,” said Kurt Johnson, SVP of Programming for Townsquare Media. “Artist interviews, engagement with listeners, promotions, and of course the best Country content from TasteOfCountry.com. We’re excited to have him on board!” Paul exclaimed, “So excited to do this with Townsquare! I’ve done shows in several incredible markets, but going coast-to-coast every night is a dream come true. I can’t wait to bring the excitement of Nashville and Country music to our fans every night!”
• Alex On The Loose — Paul succeeds Sam Alex, who exits after a five-year run. Alex told RAMP, “Thank you to Kurt Johnson and everyone at Townsquare Media for five incredible years. I’m also eternally grateful for the loyal sponsors and over 30 individual station owners who chose to carry the show.”
Alex’s radio resume includes stints at WMZQ/Washington, DC, WRRM/Cincinnati and WBWB/Bloomington, IN. He says will continue to do interviews and cover red carpets for Celebrity Page TV as he explores his future options.
