Rob Kruz Named PD of Hot 99.5/DC

Rob Kruz has been named as the new Program Director of iHeartMedia Top 40 WIHT (Hot 99.5)/Washington, effective December 18. Kruz earns the transfer from the PD chair at Top 40 sister WFLZ/Tampa and he succeeds Tommy Chuck as PD of Hot 99.5; interestingly, Mr. Chuck is packing for a move back to Tampa as the newly SVP of Programming for the company’s 14-station Tampa-Sarasota Area and PD of Country WFUS (US103.5).

The move marks a radio homecoming for Kruz, who previously did nights on Hot 99.5 and later programmed sister WZFT (Z104.3)/Baltimore. He began his career at WDRQ/Detroit. Kruz will report to Jeff Kapugi, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Washington, D.C. Region, who commented, “Rob Kruz was the best and natural choice to lead the team at Hot 99.5. We are excited to have Kruz back in Washington.”

Kruz said, “I’m honored and thrilled to be heading back to iHeartMedia DC to lead the incredibly talented team at Hot 99.5. I’m grateful this next step in my career is one that allows me to expand my relationship with The Kane Show, and return to Hot — a brand that personally means so much to me. It feels like coming home!”
