Rob Miller Upped, Moving To Miami

• Big day for Rob Miller, who has been a) named Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s South Florida region and b) elevated to Executive Vice President of Hot AC Programming and Strategy for iHeartMedia National Programming Group. Miller has been with iHeartMedia for nearly three decades. He earns the upgrade and transfer after a 12-year run at the helm of WKTU/New York. He previously programmed WALK-FM/Long Island.

In his new role as SVP of Programming, Miller will be responsible for the day-to-day operations in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale markets as well as West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Fort Myers, Naples and Punta Gorda. As EVP of Hot AC Programming, he will work closely with several iHeartMedia stations throughout the United States.

Miller will report to Brian Olson, Division President and Region President for iHeartMedia South Florida, who said, “I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Rob for the past 10 years on 939 MIA. He’s one of the best programmers I know and I have tremendous confidence in his ability to now lead the programming of our South Florida stations.” Miller will also work closely with Regional SVP of Programming Rad Messick.

• Miller succeeds Alex Tear (left), current South Florida SVP of Programming and PD of WHYI (Y100)/Miami, who remains with the company and is currently examining some interesting in-house options. In the interim, Y100 APD Joey Brooks will oversee programming for his station.
