Connecting Vets On Veterans Day
• Eye on Veterans, a new radio show that aims to provide military veterans and their families with relevant and useful information about finance, health care, and transitioning back into civilian life will begin airing on the CBS News Radio Network this Saturday, November 11 — Veterans Day. The two-hour show will air every weekend on many of the CBS News Radio Network affiliate stations, and is produced by CBS Radio’s ConnectingVets.com, a national, multimedia resource linking veterans and their families to relevant information, resources, solutions and, most importantly, each other.
In addition to the weekly show, the CBS News Radio Network will provide one-minute features every weekday to their affiliates. This daily feature is hosted by ConnectingVets.com’s Managing Editor, Chas Henry, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Captain. The programming will be heard on CBS News Radio affiliates, including WCBS/New York, KNX/Los Angeles, WCCO/Minneapolis and WTIC-AM/Hartford.
Steve Swenson, SVP/Market Manager of CBS Radio Washington, said, “ConnectingVets.com was launched as a one-stop destination for veterans and their families, providing easy access to information and resources that are scattered across multiple agencies which are difficult to navigate. We’re excited to partner with the CBS News Radio Network to expand the reach of our veterans-focused programming and initiatives, and to honor and celebrate these everyday heroes.”
