Nothing Cooler Than The Fonz
• At 5pm Tuesday, Milwaukee Radio Alliance rebranded former True Oldies outlet WZTI-AM/Milwaukee as 100.3 & 107.3 — FONZ FM, a broadcast homage to that iconic Milwaukee symbol of cool, Arthur Fonzarelli, a.k.a. “The Fonz,” who was immortalized on Happy Days.
FONZ FM (which is also carried on 1290 AM and WLDB-HD2) — will specialize in pop, soul and rock ‘n’ roll from the late ’50s to the late ’70s and is aimed at Milwaukee Adults 35-64. Core artists include The Beatles, The Jackson 5, Neil Diamond, The Temptations, Elvis Presley, The Supremes, The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, The Eagles… you get the picture.
Steve Kosbau, General Manager of the Milwaukee Radio Alliance said, “FONZ FM will feature hit music that is hugely popular with Milwaukee listeners, but has been largely forgotten by radio station. It will be a lot of fun for baby boomers.”
