MIW Mentoring Window Wide Open
MIW Spokeswoman Kay Olin adds, “As always, the MIWs anticipate another outstanding program in 2017. It’s very rewarding to watch our Mentees grow professionally throughout the year thanks to the time, talent and wisdom shared generously by a very impressive roster of MIW mentoring volunteers.”
A total of four candidates from the radio industry — representing sales, marketing, programming and digital — will be selected for the 2017 program. Of those, at least one spot will be designated for a programming candidate and one spot designated for a digital candidate. The MIW mentoring program is named in the memory of Mildred Carter, who, along with her husband, Andrew “Skip” Carter, founded the first African American-owned radio station in the U.S. in 1950, when they launched KPRS/Kansas City.
