Albany Embraces Alternative
• Albany Broadcasting has given the gift of Alternative music to the good citizens of greater Albany, NY, flipping Sports-Talk WINU-FM to ALT 104.9, “Albany’s NEW Alternative.”
A.J. Bodden, who was recently named Market Manager of the six-station cluster, explains the rationale behind the new format, commenting, “As a locally owned and operated company, Albany Broadcasting always has its finger on the pulse of what the listeners in the Albany market are seeking and we identified the need for an Albany based new Alternative format.” He added, “Broadcast radio remains the No. 1 medium as it relates to new music discovery and Albany Broadcasting is thrilled to be in a position to now give that opportunity to alternative listeners in Albany.
