Wake Up With Ben & Woods
• Broadcast Company of the America’s Sports-Talk XPRS-AM (The Mighty 1090)/San Diego is proud to welcome the newly assembled morning duo of Ben Higgins and Steve Woods as hosts of the Ben and Woods show, which debuts today and will air weekdays from 6-9am.
Higgins (left) has served as Sports Director for KGTV (10News) since 2002. Over the years, he has been a familiar host of several radio talk shows in the San Diego market covering both sports and current events. “Don’t forget to mention how I nearly got run over by an SUV on live TV, too,” he said. Woods (right) has been heard in the San Diego market for the past eight years on a number of stations, most recently as co-host of Cantore + Woods on Entercom Alternative KBZT (FM 94/9).
“These guys really are the ‘Odd Couple’ of San Diego radio,” said VP of Programming Mike Shepard. “It’s super-nice straight-arrow Ben along with loud, opinionated and funny Steve Woods. They really have chemistry and genuinely like each other. It’s going to be fun.” Mike Glickenhaus, President of BCA, added, “We are excited to begin this next chapter in mornings on The Mighty 1090 with Ben and Woods. It’s going to be a fun ride with entertaining and compelling sports permeating the airwaves again!” The Ben and Woods Show crew includes Executive Producer Joe “Bulldog” Tutino and Producer Paul Reindl.
