WFYY Jocks Ready To FLY
• JVC’s new Rhythmic Top 40 WFYY (The New FLY 103.1)/Orlando, which has been rolling jockless since its August 1 launch has revealed the identities of its new jock staff — all well known market veterans — all of whom officially hit the air on Monday, August 29.
The FLY Morning Wakeup will be hosted by Lil’ Shawn & Carla, followed at 10am by a solo Carla until noon. MurphDawg, who programmed WFYY’s Country predecessor, WOTW (103.1 The Wolf) for eight years, will do noon-4pm, followed by the duo of Ricky Padilla and DJ Nasty from 4-8pm, leading into Nightz With Nailz, hosted by DJ Nailz from 8pm-midnight.
Lil’ Shawn began his radio career on the now defunct WPYO (Party 95.3), eventually co-hosting mornings from 2006-2020. Carla Wilmaris hosts the podcasts Sh*t I’m 30! and Pivot With Purpose, which she grew to over 1 million downloads. Prior to joining the former WOTW, MurphDawg hosted successful morning shows at the former WBTS/Atlanta and WHZT/Greenville, SC.
Ricky Padilla was a huge part of legendary Orlando radio stations WJHM (102 Jamz), Power 95.3, and Star 94.5. He’s also the emcee for the Orlando City Soccer Club. DJ Nasty is a Grammy-winning producer and deejay whose mad mixing skillz have been heard on 102 Jamz and Power 95.3. DJ Nailz has been a multimedia star in Orlando for the past decade on Power 95.3 and WFTV (Channel 9), along with a stint at Miami’s legendary WEDR (99 Jamz).
