High In The Hollywood Hills
• Los Angeles-based Swedish vocalist, producer and songwriter Lykke Li was celebrated, Hollywood-style last week with a high profile album-listening party at the amazing mid-century modern home of songwriter/producer/Miike Snow member, Andrew Wyatt that overlooked the twinkling lights of Universal Studios and the Valley below.
To say the place filled up quickly would be an understatement — what started out as a fairly sedate affair quickly escalated, much like your parents’ house would come under siege when word got out that they were out of town for the weekend. It was a blast! Attendees included Alicia Keys, super producer Mark Ronson and there were also rumors of a Miley Cyrus sighting, but who could tell in that crowd. Radio folks in the house included Lisa Worden and John Peake of iHeartMedia, Chris Muckley of SiriusXM and KROQ/L.A.‘s newly arrived MD, Miles Anzaldo.
Several wine and Mezcal bars were strategically set up around the beautifully manicured grounds, hors d’oeuvres were passed around and a fire was roaring in the fireplace — all of it the perfect accompaniment to the music, as Lykke Li introduced and played her forthcoming album, So Sad So Sexy through some massive speakers. The timing was great, as “Deep End” and “Hard Rain” were the first tracks released. sad so sexy is Lykke Li’s fourth full-length album and is due out June 8 via RCA Records, her first release with the label. Huge thanks to our RCA hosts for a marvelous evening!
