Bay Area Pros On The Loose

• We recently reported that Bonneville-operated Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 KFOX)/San Jose-San Francisco hired market vet Joey V for mornings and moved Chris Jackson from mornings to afternoons. We also recently learned that, around that same time, two-year station vets Celeste Perry and Nancy Newcomer were released — Perry had been doing 9am-noon, followed by Newcomer from noon-3pm.

Ms. Perry (left) spent the majority of her radio career in San Francisco — she co-hosted mornings with Dave Sholin on KFRC and middays at KOSF (Big 103.7), along with stints at KYCY (Young Country 93.3) and KYA/KSFO. Perry started her radio career at KQMQ in her hometown of Honolulu, working for the legendary Ron Jacobs. She was inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame in 2014 and she’s currently a host on KOFY-TV/San Francisco. Perry can be reached at celesteperrytv@gmail.com or through her website, celesteperry.com.

• Prior to her two-year stint at KFOX, Nancy Newcomer (right) spent two years doing the evening show on 96.5 HD2, the Classic Hits side channel of KOIT/San Francisco. Her previous radio stops include KTYD & KSBL/Santa Barbara, KESZ/Phoenix and KSST/San Luis Obispo, CA. Newcomer can be contacted via email at nancy.newcomer@gmail.com.
