Mr. Zachary Goes To Washington

RAMP has confirmed that Entercom has transferred Phil Zachary from its Hartford SVP/Market Manager post to run its Washington, DC group — Rhythmic WPGC, Hot AC WIAD (94.7 Fresh FM), Bloomberg Business Talk WDCH (99.1/105.7), Sports-Talk WJFK-FM (106.7 The Fan), Spanish Sports-Talk WJFK-AM and Spanish Tropical WLZL (El Zol 107.9). He replaces Steve Swenson, who exits.

The move marks a DC radio homecoming for Zachary (left), who, from 1996-2002 was VP/Market Manager for CBS Radio Washington. Zachary joined Entercom in October 2013 as SVP/Market Manager of the company’s Boston group. Last November the company unveiled a revised management structure that relocated Zachary to Entercom Hartford, with additional oversight of Providence and Springfield, MA. We are told he will continue to run the Hartford group until a permanent replacement is named.

Zachary previously spent 11 years with Curtis Media Group in Raleigh, NC as President/COO. Earlier in his career he was VP/Market Manager for HMW Communications and Voyager Communications in Raleigh and for Clear Channel in New Orleans.
