Ingram Tributes Continue To Pour In
• In the 24 hours or so since the news of Dan Ingram‘s death swept through the industry, a large number of our peers were immediately motivated to post their favorite Dan Ingram memories and tributes to social media.
Among the most notable tributes: Ken Levine wrote a phenomenally heartfelt piece that he posted on his blog, and we urge you to take the time to read it. Our friend Jack Diamond of WRQX (Mix 107.3)/Washington shared an amazing story on Facebook about the time when he and fellow teenager Steve Kingston drove up to New York City to try and meet Ingram. We just read it again for the 7th time.
Howard Hoffman posted an entertaining Ingram-curated collection of breaks from December 1970, and Rich Stevens, midday host on Alpha Media News-Talk WFTL/West Palm Beach, FL was able to speak with Ingram’s longtime WABC colleague, the equally legendary Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow yesterday morning and later produced a tribute. Sadly, it fell to Stevens to break the news of Ingram’s death to Morrow when he got him on the phone.

• And what tribute to a radio legend would be complete without the steady editing hand of “Radio’s Best Friend,” Art Vuolo? Art was away on business in Indianapolis when he heard about Ingram’s passing, and he told us he drove like the wind back to his Michigan headquarters to lovingly assemble a terrific Dan Ingram tribute using footage from Ingram’s run at WCBS-FM.
As a special bonus, Art has included, at no additional cost, a rare video interview with Ingram on The Joey Reynolds Show at WOR/New York from about 10 years ago in the station’s original studios at 1440 Broadway in Manhattan.
