Michaels Makes Management Move
• Maverick Management and Larry Rudolph formally announced the arrival of industry pro Jay Michaels as the newest member of the Maverick Management team, working directly with Rudolph’s Reign-Deer Entertainment.
In his new position Michaels (left) will now report directly to Rudolph, CEO of Reign-Deer Entertainment/Maverick, who remarked, “I’m so excited to have Jay Michaels join the company as a manager. His reputation, knowledge and experience in the radio and record company world makes him a powerful addition to the Maverick team.”
Michaels’ extensive radio resume includes programming stints with KVIL, KDMX and KDGE/Dallas, as well as KRBE/Houston and KHFI/Austin. He was also an A&R executive with Republic Records from 2000-2002. Michaels recently relocated to Los Angeles from Dallas with his husband, Jay Roecker, an Account Exec with iHeartMedia Los Angeles, and their five-year old son, Clark.
At the outset, Michaels will work directly with Haley Reinhart as well as Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix, who he describes as “Two incredibly talented and unique successful singer songwriters that I absolutely love and respect.”
Commenting on this exciting new career chapter, Michaels said, “I’ve been so fortunate to work for the best radio stations, incredible people and companies in my career, and now I’m working alongside one of today’s most respected and innovative managers who has such a diverse roster of artists, from Britney Spears and Pitbull to Aerosmith and many more. I am truly honored and grateful for this opportunity. A huge thank you to Larry, Dan Dymtrow, Rebecca Warfield and the entire Maverick team for believing in me. I’ve always been a music guy and this seemed like the natural transition from radio to management.” Your best wishes can be shared with Jay at Jay.Michaels@Maverick.com.
