• Happy New Year to Bo Jaxon, PD of Kroenke Sports Entertainment (KSE) Hot AC KIMN (Mix 100.3)/Denver, who doubles his Mile High programming pleasure with the addition of a second set of fully functional PD stripes for Country KWOF (92.5 The Wolf). That spot has been open since Ed Hill departed in November.
And there’s more — Jaxon has promoted Wolf midday talent Greg Peters to Music Director and he’s also moved to mornings on The Wolf with Jenny D to form the… wait for it… Bo and Jenny Show. Bo says he’s ready to go line dancing — hit him up at Bo.Jaxon@KSEradio.com.
• Chuck “DZL” Thompson is the new PD and midday personality at iHeartMedia Alternative WRXL (XL102)/Richmond. Thompson earns his Richmond PD pass after eight years as APD/MD and afternoon personality for Alternative sister WEND (106.5 The End)/Charlotte. His earlier programming and promotions stops were in Rochester, NY, Atlanta, Columbia, SC and Canton, GA. “XL102 is an extremely valuable heritage station in our iHeartMedia Richmond market,” said Zac Davis, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Richmond. “We needed to find the right fit to oversee its day-to-day operations — someone who had good relationships with our label partners and had experience in coordinating and managing large scale events. DZL stood out as someone who possessed this unique skill set and we’re looking forward to having him lead our XL102 brand.”
Thompson said, “I’m beyond grateful for my time at WEND/Charlotte where I learned from among the best in the business. I’m honored and excited to get to Richmond and immerse myself in the culture of the city as well as continue to build the XL102 brand.” DZL succeeds Dustin “Fletcher” Matthews, who was recently named PD of iHeartMedia’s new Alternative outlet KLLT (ALT 104.9)/St. Louis.
