Is There Nothing Beer Can’t Do?
• To quote the immortal words of that great philosopher, Homer Simpson, “Homer no function beer well without.” And that logically leads us to Cumulus Alternative 101WKQX/Chicago, which has deliciously partnered with Church Street Brewing Company to introduce “Q Street, an Alternative IPA,” to Chicagoland craft beer fans. Q Street, described as “righteously good,” is now available in select brewpubs, bars and shops across the Chicagoland area, with more locations added daily, and a portion of the proceeds go directly to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; a charity dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.
“We are so excited to be collaborating with 101WKQX to create Q Street Beer, Alternative IPA!” said a seriously excited Lisa Gregor, owner of Church Street Brewing. “It means so much to Church Street Brewing to have the opportunity to collaborate with an iconic Chicago radio station known for bringing the best of Alternative Rock music to Chicago over the years. Now we want to extend that tradition by working with 101WKQX to also bring to Chicago the best in craft beer.”
Troy Hanson, who doubles as VP of Rock Programming for Cumulus Media and PD of 101WKQX, said, “We are delighted to work with local entrepreneurs Church Street to give our listeners a unique Chicago born and brewed elixir. In doing so, this collaboration is an opportunity for WKQX to give back to the community on frankly a tough topic to talk about in Suicide Prevention, but one we all need to be acutely aware of.” 101WKQX will host an official Q Street Launch and Dance Party on Friday, September 21 at 8pm at Cubby Bear, 1059 W. Addison St., right across the street from Wrigley Field.
