Johnson Named PD of WRDU/Raleigh

• iHeartMedia Classic Rock WRDU/Raleigh has inked Joe Johnson as PD and afternoon drive personality, effective September 24. Johnson scores the Raleigh transfer after a seven-year run as PD/afternoon dude on Classic Rock sister WROV/Roanoke-Lynchburg, VA. He began his career at WXTB (98Rock)/Tampa Bay.

Upon his arrival, Johnson (seen here with optional crawfish head) will report to Chris Edge, Area SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Raleigh and Greensboro, who remarked, “Joe’s knowledge of the format and understanding of the rock lifestyle made him a great choice. I’m looking forward to having Joe work with our morning show Woody and Wilcox and lead WRDU programming for many years to come.”
