Hubbard Cuts Hit St. Louis
• UPDATED: On the heels of yesterday’s pre-holiday downsizing at Hubbard Radio Chicago comes word of similar cuts at the company’s St. Louis cluster. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports 11 employees have been let go — interestingly, the same number as were cut in Chicago.
The list reportedly includes Rick Balis (left), the longtime PD of Classic Rock KSHE, who had been with the station since 1976. Another notable KSHE departure is Carl “The Intern” Middleman (second from left), Executive Producer of the KSHE morning show and a fixture at the station since 1990.
Across the hall on Adult Hits WARH (106.5 The Arch), Spencer Graves (second from right) is out as host of the Spencer’s Neighborhood morning show, as is his Executive Producer Brandon “Brando” Luttman (right) and midday personality April, who will reportedly be replaced by evening personality Robert Fithen.
We understand that Graves’ co-host, Cassiday Proctor is still with the company, but we hear that Arch afternoon duo “Stacey K” Boyer and Jonah Griss-Bush will slide up into mornings on The Arch, effective Jan. 3.
The cluster also includes Country WIL-FM, Alternative KPNT (105.7 The Point) and ESPN affiliate WXOS (101Sports). RAMP has reached out to Market Manager John Kijowski for comment.
