Beasley Makes Management Moves
• Beasley Media Group, Inc. has named Brian Samborski as Regional Director of National Sales for the Company’s Boston and Detroit markets. The move makes perfect sense, seeing as how Samborski most recently spent 12 years as National Sales Manager for Greater Media. “I’m looking forward to beginning a new chapter at Beasley Media Group and partnering with a highly reputable team,” Samborski. “Beasley has a very strong line-up of stations across the country and a tremendous reputation. I appreciate the open arms welcome by this amazing company!” Heather Monahan, Chief Revenue Officer for Beasley Media Group remarked, “With the unparalleled reputation that Brian has in the national arena, his station side experience and his commitment to innovation, we could not be more excited to be bringing him into the Beasley Media Group family! We are looking forward to big things from Brian as he takes the reigns on this major role in our company.” Samborski can be congratulated at Brian.Samborski@bbgi.com.
• Beasley’s former Wilmington, DE Market Manager Matt Smith is packing for a sweet move back to Philadelphia as the newly named VP/General Sales Manager of Sports-Talk WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic), WTEL-AM (610 Sports) and daytimer WWDB-AM (Talk 860). Smith is a 15-year Beasley vet, a self-described “proud Philadelphia sports fan, and a 97.5 The Fanatic P1” who has served in various sales and leadership positions in several Beasley markets from Las Vegas to Philadelphia. “Matt has always been a successful manager and an outstanding sales leader for our company,” said Beasley Media Group President Bruce Beasley. “We’re thrilled to bring Matt back to Philly!”
• Meanwhile, Beasley has filled Matt Smith’s former position with the promotion of AJ Lurie to VP/Market Manager of the company’s Wilmington, DE group — AC WJBR and Classic Hits WTMR-AM in nearby Camden, NJ. Lurie transfers north from the company’s Ft. Myers-Naples, FL market where he has served as Director of Sales since 2014. He began his career as an AE in 2007.
“We’re eager to bring AJ on board in our outstanding Wilmington market,” said President Bruce Beasley. “AJ’s absolutely prepared for this new challenge. I’m confident our company will benefit from his leadership skills, passion for radio and management abilities.” Lurie remarked, “I’m honored to begin working with the talented team in Wilmington. I’ve had the privilege of serving for more than a decade with our amazing Ft Myers cluster, which has prepared me for this next step in my career. I want to sincerely thank Bruce Beasley, Brad Beasley and everyone who showed faith in my abilities to move into this Market Manager position.”
