Red Sox Announce All-Star Radio Team

Entercom Sports-Talk WEEI/Boston, the flagship station of yoooooouuuur 2018 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox announced its new team of play-by-play broadcasters for the 2019 season — (pictured, l-r): Sean McDonough, Josh Lewin and Mario Impemba will rotate in the broadcast booth alongside Red Sox Hall of Famer Joe Castiglione (right), who has signed a multi-year extension with the WEEI Red Sox Radio Network and will begin his 37th season.

The move marks a return home for McDonough, a native of Hingham, MA, who was the play-by-play voice of the Red Sox on New England Sports Network (NESN) from 1988-2004. He’s currently a leading play-by-play voice on ESPN college sports broadcasts. Lewin has called MLB, NFL and NHL games since 1995, most recently for the New York Mets on WOR/New York. He’s currently the radio play-by-play voice for UCLA football and basketball. Impemba has been broadcasting baseball games for 32 years, the last 17 as the TV play-by-play voice of the Detroit Tigers. He was the radio voice of the Los Angeles Angels from 1995 to 2001.

In addition to McDonough, Lewin and Impemba, select games will be called by ESPN legend Chris Berman, WEEI personalities Lou Merloni and Dale Arnold, NESN studio host Tom Caron and Dave O’Brien, television voice of the Red Sox for NESN. O’Brien will also call a number of nationally televised Red Sox games.
